There aren't many better strikers in all of U SPORTS then Kostopoulos. When he's healthy, the All-Canadian from Burlington, ON is a handful for any defensive line to deal with and he's been showing his uncanny knack for finding the back of the net early and often in the 2018 season. Kostopoulos displayed his class in a match with York during the week, giving Guelph a temporary lead when he gathered a loose ball in the area and blasted a strike just under the Lions' crossbar. He was also influential in the Gryphons' decisive 4-0 win over Laurier Sunday, essentially icing the match with his team's second goal late in the first half, before adding a penalty kick moments after the restart. That brings his early-season tally to five goals in four matches, similar to his torrid start to the 2017 season.

"Jace has had a very good week," said head coach Keith Mason, acknowledging that Kostopoulos is much more than a scorer. "His link up play between our midfield, our attack, and our wingers has been spot on. He's such a key player for us."
