For the second time in four weeks, Ahmed Haroon has been named Gryphon Athlete of the Week. The fourth year forward set career-highs in both points (28) and rebounds (13) in an 80-60 victory over Algoma Saturday in Sault Ste. Marie. With the Gryphons in the midst of a hunt for a playoff berth, Haroon stepped up with an impressive performance that saw him do a bit of everything. The Mississauga native went 1-for-3 from beyond the arc, was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and was an efficient 9-of-18 from the field on the day as the Gryphons improved to 5-6 on the season with the win over the Thunderbirds. The 28 point total surpasses his previous career high of 26 points, which he set earlier this season in a win over the then-No. 8 Western Mustangs. For the season, Haroon ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.0 points per game.
