CHANTIQUE PAYNE, SWIMMING

Fourth year swimmer, Chantique Payne broke an OUA record and swam her way to four medals at the OUA Swimming Championships this past weekend, hosted by the University of Guelph. Payne set a new OUA standard in the womens 100m Butterfly with a record time of 1:00.87 to take the top spot on the podium.  This is her fourth consecutive year winning the event.  She also defending her title and earned another gold medal in the women’s 50m butterfly with a time of 27.79.  She finished with silver in the women’s 100m freestyle (56.80) and bronze in the 50m freestyle (26.34). The Brantford native also raced in the women’s 4x100m medley relay team that qualified for the CIS Championships.
