With winds gusting over 30 km/h, fourth-year kicker Daniel Ferraro (Mississauga, Ont.) delivered one of his best performances as a Gryphon. In a game in which touchdowns were hard to come by, Ferraro was able to connect on five field goals including makes from 32, 16, 32, 20, and 26 yards out. Ferraro accounted for 16 of the Gryphons 24 points in a 24-9 victory over Windsor. This marks the second time Ferraro has stolen the spotlight versus the Lancers; last season he connected on three field goals in a narrow 24-23 playoff win against Windsor, including the game-winner from 17 yards out with eight seconds left in regulation. The Psychology major also stepped up for the Gryphons on the weekend in the punting game, recording a long of 55 yards and solid average of 38.2 yards per punt despite the difficult wind conditions. One of Daniel's specialties is the short and high "pooch" kick which gives the Gryphons an opportunity to recover the football on kick-offs.  Against Windsor, Ferraro attempted this once and the Gryphons recovered the football.
