Gryphon swimmer Evan Van Moerkerke (Tillsonburg, Ont.) swam his way to three medals this weekend at the OUA Championships. The Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics student earned a gold, silver and bronze at the three-day event hosted by Brock University.
 
The second-year swimmer won gold in the 100m freestyle, silver in the 50m freestyle and then a bronze in the 50m breaststroke. He nearly grabbed a fourth medal finishing just outside a podium spot in the 50m butterfly with a fourth place finish.
 
The defending OUA rookie of the year has his sights now set on the CIS Championships in two weeks (Feb. 20-22) at Toronto and making the senior National Team in April.
