Amanda Parkins, Women’s Hockey
Gryphon left wing Amanda Parkins (Kitchener, Ont.) notched two goals and two assists in leading the Guelph Gryphons to two victories in the opening weekend of OUA women’s hockey action. On Saturday the Kitchener, Ont. native scored a pair of goals in the Gryphons 4-0 victory over Laurentian. The Sociology major then added a pair of assists in a 2-1 victory over Nipissing on Sunday afternoon. The 2012-13 OUA player of the year looks to be off to a great start this season, leading her team to a 2-0 record heading into their home opener this week.
