On the Cross-country scene in 1980, Jay-Leslie captured the bronze medal at the OWIAA
Championships and led the Gryphons to an OWIAA gold and CIAU silver medal. In 1979, she was a member of the OWIAA bronze medallist Cross-Country and Track teams and captained the 1981 Cross-Country squad to an OWIAA silver medal finish. Jay-Leslie qualified for the Canadian Championships in 1981 and was honoured as the university’s Female Athlete of the Year.
