In 1979-1980, the Women’s Basketball team under the direction of Head Coach, Karen Lee, had a perfect 12-0 record in league play. In the playoffs, the Gryphons defeated York and Laurentian to claim the OWIAA title. Lee was named the province’s Coach of the Year. At the national championships, the Gryphs lost their first game to Laurentian, won the second against Winnipeg , but fell to Bishop’s in the consolation final.
