Leslie is joining the Gryphons as a rookie power forward. Her size and strength will make the transition to the OUA easier than for most rookies. The coaching staff is looking for Lesley to use her strength to win the one-on-one battles in the corners and in front of the net. She also has a wicked slap shot that will be feared by goalies across the league. She has deceptive speed that she should be able to use to her advantage when driving past defenders. Pre-Guelph: Lesley is from Mindemoya, Ontario, where she played for the Sudbury Intermediate AA Lady Wolves. She was an assistant captain in 2006-07, when the team won the gold medal at provincials. She was also presented with the Coaches Award for high school basketball and she was a volunteer with the Special Olympics.
