GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons celebrated the best and brightest from a memorable 2024-25 season by holding the annual Gryphons Athletics Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. WATERLOO, Ont. – For the first time in 12 years, the Guelph Gryphons have earned a spot on the OUA podium in women's lacrosse. On Sunday, Oct. 19 at Wilfrid Laurier University's Ansley Alumni Field, the Gryphons women's lacrosse team picked up a 10-8 victory over the host Laurier Golden Hawks in the bronze medal game of the 2025 OUA Women's Lacrosse Championships. GUELPH, Ont. – A busy week in October sees six Gryphon varsity teams in postseason action with it all kicking off on Wednesday night (Oct. 15) as the men's soccer team hosts a preliminary round match. Also highlighting the playoff action this week is the Gryphons baseball team when they compete at nationals in Montreal while women's lacrosse and golf teams are in action at their respective OUA championships. Women's rugby and women's rugby will also begin their postseason journey from the U of G campus this weekend. GUELPH, Ont. - Any individual wanting to attend an "Open Tryout" for a University of Guelph varsity team must complete the Athlete Portal (information below) as well as the Medical Health Questionnaire (information below) and be medically cleared for participation. In addition, a Tryout Fee of $30 must be paid at the Client Service Desk in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre or online. Individuals who are first-year students will need to create an account in the system.
