GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons celebrated the best and brightest from a memorable 2024-25 season by holding the annual Gryphons Athletics Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. MONTREAL, Que. – A total of 23 student-athletes from the Guelph Gryphons rowing program made the trip to the Olympic Rowing Basin on Ile-Notre Dame in Montreal to compete in the 2025 Canadian University Rowing Championships. This year's national championship event featured a record 28 schools and 385 student-athletes from across the country converge to Montreal for the 28th annual Canadian University Rowing Championships, hosted by McGill. GUELPH, Ont. – With October winding down and the calendar flipping over the November, another busy week sees six Gryphon varsity teams in postseason action highlighted by the University of Guelph women's rugby team competing for a national championship in Vancouver, the rowing team closes out their season as they make their way to Montreal for nationals, women's soccer heads to Toronto as they look to win their second OUA banner in program history and following their upset win over Western, the football team will look repeat the feat when they head to Laurier in for the semifinals. GUELPH, Ont. – A busy week in October sees six Gryphon varsity teams in postseason action highlighted by the women's rugby team looking to win back-to-back OUA Championships on Friday night in Kingston. Our rowing and cross country teams will also compete for an OUA championship this weekend. Field hockey will compete for a conference title in the OUA Final Four tournament. GUELPH, Ont. – The University of Guelph was well-represented at the 2025 FISU Summer World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, with three current Gryphon student-athletes wearing the red and white for Team Canada at this summer's games. GUELPH, Ont. - Any individual wanting to attend an "Open Tryout" for a University of Guelph varsity team must complete the Athlete Portal (information below) as well as the Medical Health Questionnaire (information below) and be medically cleared for participation. In addition, a Tryout Fee of $30 must be paid at the Client Service Desk in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre or online. Individuals who are first-year students will need to create an account in the system.
