GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons celebrated the best and brightest from a memorable 2024-25 season by holding the annual Gryphons Athletics Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. GUELPH, Ont. – The Gryphons men's soccer team saw their 2025 season officially come to an end on Wednesday night (Oct. 15, 2025), suffering a 1-0 loss to the visiting McMaster Marauders at the Gryphon Soccer Complex in opening round action of the 2025 OUA men's soccer playoffs. A tightly-contested affair between the two OUA West Division rivals saw little to separate the two sides throughout the majority of regulation, with Guelph unable to find the back of the net despite producing more chances and shots on targets throughout the game. With the match deadlocked at 0-0 late in the 2nd half, it would be the Marauders finding the breakthrough to steal the victory and advance in the postseason. A promising Guelph attack at one end of the pitch would see a Gryphon cross put into a dangerous area within the McMaster 18-yard box. GUELPH, Ont. – The playoff-bound Gryphons men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season portion of their 2025 schedule on Friday night (Oct. 10) with a 2-2 draw at home against the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. The Gryphons jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Laurier, with Guelph opening the scoring in the 38th minute on a converted penalty from third-year midfielder, Jacob Cabral (Mississauga, ON). The Gryphons would double their lead early in the 2nd half, with fourth-year standout Ambrose Tinmouth (Comox, BC) making it 2-0 Guelph in the 48th minute. GUELPH, Ont. - Sunday afternoon (Sept. 14, 2025) at the Gryphon Soccer Complex, the Gryphons men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2025 OUA regular season, falling 3-1 to the visiting McMaster Marauders. The Gryphons, fresh off a Friday night victory over Brock, started brightly on Sunday afternoon as well, with second-year winger, Ethan Fraser (Guelph, ON), opening the scoring with a goal at the 17-minute mark to put the Gryphons up 1-0. After the Marauders equalized in the 31' minute, McMaster would add two more goals in the second half, with the Marauders striking twice in the span of two minutes in the 68' and 69' minutes en route to the 3-1 win. GUELPH, Ont. - The Gryphons men's soccer team picked up an impressive 2-0 win on Friday night (Sept. 12, 2025) at home against the Brock Badgers. Brock arrived at the Gryphon Soccer Complex undefeated through their first four games of the season (3-0-1), but the Gryphons were able to open the scoring before half, with second-year midfielder, Fergus Pender (Ottawa, ON), scoring the first goal of his OUA career to give Guelph a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. After the Badgers came close to finding an equalizer with a shot off the woodwork, it would be the host Gryphons answering at the other end late in regulation to seal the three points, as rookie midfielder Nico Alfieri (Milton, ON) would open his OUA account with a beautiful strike from outside the box that beat Brock keeper Nikola Neskovic to give the Gryphons a 2-0 cushion. With the win, the Gryphons remain undefeated as they improve to 2-0-3 (wins-losses-draws) as they now sit on 9 points on the season.
