The Department of Athletics at the University of Guelph is hosting the 2025 President's Golf Tournament, an annual fundraising golf tournament in support of Gryphon student-athlete scholarships. The 2024 edition of The President's Golf Tournament raised $65,000, with proceeds going directly towards supporting Gryphon student-athletes and varsity programming. Our objective is not only to attract the best and brightest student-athletes in the country, but also to provide them with the ultimate student experience, both athletically and academically. OAKVILLE, Ont. – For just the 10th time in University of Guelph history, a Guelph Gryphon student-athlete has been named 'OUA Athlete of the Year.' Olivia Rizakos, a standout forward on the Gryphons women's soccer team, has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Women's Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 season, with TMU Bold basketball player Aaron Rhooms taking home Athlete of the Year honours on the men's side. The conference-wide award was announced on Wednesday evening (May 13, 2026) at the OUA's year-end 'Honour Awards' banquet in Oakville.
