Gryphons Men's Hockey: Nolan Dann Named U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian

HALIFAX, N.S. – For the first time in 20 years, a Guelph Gryphons men's hockey player has been named a First Team All-Canadian. The U SPORTS All-Canadians and major award winners in men's hockey were announced on Wednesday morning (March 18) in Halifax at the 2026 U SPORTS Men's Hockey All-Canadian Awards. Nolan Dann, a second-year arts major at the University of Guelph and forward on the Gryphons men's hockey team, was named a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian following a scintillating sophomore season which saw him lead the OUA in points.

Dann becomes the first Gryphon since Kenneth Peroff (Second Team All-Canadian in 2013-14) to earn All-Canadian honours, and is the first Gryphon since Jesse Pyatt in 2005-06 to be named a First Team All-Canadian. Dann, the 2025-26 OUA West MVP, was one of the driving forces for his team's first playoff appearance since the 2019-20 season, helping the Gryphons reach the OUA quarterfinal stage. The Cambridge, Ontario native finished the season as the conference's leading point scorer, collecting 40 points in his 25 games played in the regular season. The arts major was 4th in the OUA with 26 assists and was tied for the team lead with 14 goals scored, as he was a key figure in Guelph's 99 goals scored (tied for 3rd in OUA) throughout the 28-game regular season. Dann had 10 multi-point games during the regular season, including a pair of four-point efforts as he collected 17 points during his 10-game point streak to close out the regular season. The former Flint Firebird (OHL) carried over his regular season form into the postseason, scoring three times in his team's five postseason games. Dann was also named an OUA First Team All-Star following his magnificent 2025-26 season.
