U SPORTS Top 10 (Jan. 5, 2026): Gryphons Women's Hockey Headlines Latest National Rankings at No. 9

TORONTO, Ont. – On Monday, January 5, 2026, the U SPORTS office released its latest national rankings for the 2025-26 season. The lone U of G varsity program represented in this week's rankings is the Guelph Gryphons women's hockey team, sitting at No. 9 in the latest Top 10 rankings. The Gryphons closed out their first half of the season on the road in North Bay on November 29, 2025 when they took on the Nipissing Lakers where they were able to earn a point but fell in overtime, 3-2 to the Lakers with goals from Katy McKenna and Olivia Knuff. The Gryphs enter the second half of the season leading the OUA West with an 11-1-3 record on the regular season. The No. 9-ranked Gryphons return to the ice at the Gryphon Centre Arena on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 10) when they host the OUA East leading Queen's Gaels in our She's Got Game and Alumni Day game.
