BURLINGTON, Ont. – For the fifth time during the 2025-26 season, a University of Guelph student-athlete has been named 'OUA Athlete of the Week.'
Hannah Bourdon of the Guelph Gryphons women's basketball team has earned 'OUA Athlete of the Week' honours for the second time this season. Bourdon alongside Keon Baker (Ontario Tech men's basketball), Clara Chishom (Laurier women's hockey) and Megan Thiessen (Brock women's hockey) has earned conference-wide honours for the period covering January 5 to 11, 2026. Bourdon, a sport and event management major at the U of G had a pair of double-doubles including a career-high 7 steals helping her team in their wins over the Western Mustangs and Windsor Lancers over the weekend.

Hannah Bourdon for the second time this season has been named 'OUA Athlete of the Week' following a pair of fantastic performances, helping the Gryphons women's basketball team to a pair of important OUA West division home wins. The Fort Erie, Ontario native was integral in her team's 78-77 win over the Western Mustangs on Friday night (Jan. 9) where she scored a game-high 27 points to go along with her 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. The sport and event management major continued her outstanding homestand the following night (Jan. 10) against the Windsor Lancers as she posted a season best 7 steals to go with her 21-point, 12 rebound double-double in her team's 73-57 victory. This was the sixth time this season Bourdon has recorded a double-double as the fourth-year guard has turned in an extraordinary 2025-26 campaign. Bourdon in her 14 games played this season, ranks in the top 10 of the OUA in PPG (17.1, 6th), total points (240, 3rd), total rebounds (130, 6th), assists (40, 6th) and steals (51, 2nd). The win extended the Gryphons winning streak to nine games, improving their record to 12-2 on the season as they moved into first place in the OUA West division. Next up for Bourdon and her Gryphons women's basketball team, a Friday night (Jan. 16) showdown in Kingston with the undefeated Queen's Gaels before they head to Oshawa for a Saturday night (Jan. 17) date with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
