WLAX: Susanna Coss named OUA Second Team All-Star

BURLINGTON, Ont. - On Monday (Oct. 29), Ontario University Athletics announced the conference all-stars and major award winners for the 2018 women's lacrosse season. The Guelph Gryphons were represented by third-year midfielder Susanna Coss, who was named an OUA Second Team All-Star.

It marks the first time in three years that a Gryphons women's lacrosse player has garnerned OUA All-Star honours (Jessica Demars - 2015).Susanna Coss fights off a Laurier defender

"Susanna is one of the most versatile players I've ever coached," says Staci Morris, who just completed her fourth season as head coach of the Gryphon women's lacrosse program after spending the previous two as an assistant.

"Susanna brings an intensity to the field that is contagious for our entire team. She's extremely talented and also possesses an incredible work ethic. We're very proud of her achievements."

Coss, a 20-year native of Annapolis, Maryland, was named team captain of the Gryphons in 2018 and impacts the game in all areas. The third-year Neuroscience major is a strong, vocal leader defensively, but is also dangerous in attack, serving as one of the team's leading goal scorers.

Coss and the Gryphons finished 6th in the 10-team conference in 2018. For more information on the rest of the OUA's all-stars and major award winners from the 2018 women's lacrosse season, head to oua.ca.
