Job Reinhart has been named the OUA's Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance on Saturday (Sept. 29) in his team's 27-24 victory over the No. 8-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks. Reinhart becomes the third Gryphon this season to receive OUA Player of the Week honours.

Saturday afternoon at University Stadium in Waterloo, the Guelph Gryphons produced one of the top defensive performances of the entire 2018 U SPORTS football season. Fourth-year linebacker Job Reinhart was right in the middle of it all. The Guelph native helped lead a phenomenal defensive effort, which included six interceptions and two defensive scores. Reinhart, who was all over the field during the game with 10 tackles, set the tone with a 1st quarter interception that he returned 72-yards the other way for a touchdown to open the scoring. For the Gryphons' standout two-sport athlete at U of G (Reinhart also competes on U of G's men's wrestling team) it marked the second time this season that the 6-0,. 237 lbs linebacker has taken one back all the way following his 26-yard pick-six during Guelph's win over York on Labour Day.
