TORONTO - On Tuesday, September 19, a total of four Gryphon teams were ranked nationally as U SPORTS announced its weekly Top 10 polls.
The first cross country rankings of the season were released with the Gryphons men's and women's teams ranking No. 2 in the country after strong performances at the Queen's Invitational in their season opening event. The Gryphon women's rugby team, who entered the 2017 season as defending OUA champions, come in at No. 3 in the country and will look to improve to 3-0 on the season when they host Western on Saturday (Sept. 23) at Varsity Field. Rounding out the list of Gryphon teams ranked in the national Top 10 is the men's soccer team who land at No. 5. The men's soccer team, also defending OUA champions, currently sit in 1st in the OUA West standings after sweeping Algoma on the weekend and will now prepare to host York on Wednesday (Sept. 20) in a re-match of last year's OUA final.Â
