Wetterling battles Gryphons to a scoreless draw

WINDSOR, Ont. - Nicklas Wetterling had his third shutout in a row as the Gryphons tied the Windsor Lancers on Saturday 0-0 in Windsor. The Gryphons move to 4-1-2 on the season while the Lancers are 2-2-3.

It was a close game throughout most of the contest until Gryphon Jared Agyemang received his second yellow card in the 70th minute. The Gryphon's 10 men left on the field battled hard to preserve the shut out despite being a man short for 20 minutes. A controversial offside decision denied the Gryphons what appeared a clear winner late in the contest.

Nicklas Wetterling (Ljungby, SWE) made five saves to preserve the shutout. The Lancers outshot the Gryphons 11-6 on the day.

The Gryphons return home tomorrow (Sunday, September 22) to host the UOIT Ridgebacks at 3:15 p.m.
