Guelph, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphon's women's soccer team defeated the Windsor Lancer's 7-0 at the Gryphon Soccer Complex on Saturday.

A total of six Gryphons figured into the scoring in the teams offensive outburst. The win pushes the Gryphon's to 7-5-0 on the season while the Lancer's drop to 4-5-2.Â

Guelph started the opening half on fire, completely dominating the Lancer's. In the 15th minute Courtney Whiteside (Guelph, Ont.) broke the deadlock when she sprung in on a breakaway and beat the Lancer's keeper. Shortly after that in the 17th minute Brianne Hall (Ottawa) made it 2-0 Guelph. Hall danced around several Lancer defenders and beat the keeper for the score.

Hall had a great opportunity to pot her second of the match in the 29th minute when she streaked inside Windsor's box in the 29th minute. Her shot attempt was just wide of the goal. However Hall was not to be stopped. In the 36th minute she netted her second of the match on a breakaway goal, flicking the ball past the keeper with the outside of her right foot.

Jenny Dunn (Vancouver) scored in the 36th minute off a free kick from Erica Bain (Niagara Falls, Ont.) to make it 4-0 Guelph. The score remained that way at the half.

The Gryphon's continued the onslaught in the second half as Tori Cadman (Burlington, Ont.) converted a Katie Casucii (Niagara Falls, Ont.) free kick on a header to make it 5-0 Gryphon's. Casucii scored a goal for herself later on in the 71st minute to make it 6-0 Gryphon's.

First year player Meredith Langston (Aurora, Ont.) had a strong half with numerous chances to score her first of the year but was unable to convert. Julia Shugg (Burlington, Ont.) made it 7-0 in the 89th minute on a beautiful breakaway goal. Goalkeepers Alexandra King (Ottawa) and Meghan Klimas (Russell, Ont.) combined for the shut out.

The Gryphon's look to win their next contest on tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. as they host the Western Mustangs at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.
