Four Gryphons named OUA All-Stars

#5 Jackie Sollis, OUA 1st Team All-Star

Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announced the 2011-12 women's hockey all-stars and major award winners today (Feb. 24).  Gryphon defencemen Jackie Sollis (West Vancouve r, B.C.) was named a first-team all-star, while forward Erin Small (Pickering, Ont.) and goaltender Stephanie Nehring (Oshawa, Ont.) were named to the second team.  Named to the all-rookie team was first year forward Jessica Pinkerton (Oshawa, Ont.).
 
Jackie Sollis led all defencemen in scoring this year with 23 points to earn her first appearance on the First-Team after being a Second-Team All-Star for the past two seasons.
 
Erin Small, a fifth-year senior, finished second in league scoring with 34 points and earns her first all-star nod.
 
Rookie goaltender Stephanie Nehring was one of only two goalies to reach double digits in wins with 14 and finished second with a 1.89 goals against average.
 
Jessica Pinkerton notched 14 goals in her debut season, tops among all rookies, and finished second with 26 points. Her nine power play goals led the league.
