Oct. 16: Toronto 76 – Guelph 41 (exhibition)
The Gryphon women's basketball team dropped its second game in as many days at the Ryerson Tournament in Toronto today (Oct. 16). The Toronto Varsity Blues defeated the Gryphons 76-41.
Highlighting the game for the Gryphons was Marlee Freeman (Orillia, Ont.) and Kara Muhlhausen (Belleville, Ont.) who came off the bench to lead the Gryphons with 10 points each. Muhlhausen also grabbed seven rebounds.
The Varsity Blues led from start to finish in the contest. Toronto led by 37-28 at the half, and extended their lead to 55-37 by the end of the third quarter. In the fourth the Gryphons struggled to score, only getting four points out of the quarter, as Toronto closed out the game with a 21-4 fourth for the 76-41 victory.
Guelph plays the RMC Paladins tomorrow morning at 930am in their last game of the tournament.
