Led by Jonathan Moscatelli's 28 points, the Guelph Gryphon men's basketball team defeated the Lake Erie Storm tonight (Oct. 15) at the W.F. Mitchell Centre in pre-season action.

Lake Erie displayed a balanced scoring attack led by Garrick Sims with 17 points. Three other Storm players tallied double digits including Alex Davis (14), Eric Worthey (12) and Brandon Smith (11).

At the halfway mark, the Gryphons were ahead by nine points (41-32), and had extended their lead to 16 points (73-57) by the end of the third. It wasn't until the fourth, where the Gryphons struggled and the Storm made a small run outscoring Guelph 17-14. But it was too little too late, as the Gryphons held on for the win.
